I loved everyone
Whoever heard me say “I love you”
Every single thing I’ve done
Every wound, every wonder that’s happened to me
Has shaped the bones of who I am
I do not regret a thing
There were moments heavy as stone
Moments that taught me gently or broke me open
I do not regret those hardships
They carved out space inside me
All my mistakes,
Even the ones I made again and again
I do not regret them
Sometimes a lesson must return
Before it finds a home in me
I do not regret
A single breath, step, or stumble
Nor what the world laid in my path
All the love I gave
All the kindness offered, even to hearts
That couldn’t hold it or return it
I do not regret that, either
They too deserved warmth
They too deserved gentleness
Everything blooms from what came before
